Sharai Siemens Photography: Family Is Everything

I spent some time with this adorable family from Rosetown last month. We were holding out for a snowy and warm day but with our weather lately, we would be lucky to get either one. I prefer the warmth anyway as it allowed the kids to run and play throughout our entire session and made for my favourite type of family shots.

These photos are examples of why it is always important to feel free and to play.

Sharai Siemens Photography: A Rooftop Engagement

I asked Britt and Mike (who are my friends, so it's OK that I demanded) to wear a dress and suit for the glamour engagement portion of their session.  Britt has a friend who owns a condo downtown with access to the rooftop so, of course, we jumped all over that opportunity.

The setting sun provided the romantic tone we were after.  This couple rocked it.  I truly appreciate when couples  exude this kind of adoration for each other in their session as it allows me to capture genuine love. There was no need for direction as they were in their own world.

We had a lot of fun and I can't wait to head to Mexico with them in January to photograph their destination wedding. Britt and I have been brainstorming ideas for locations and since I am obsessed with plants and all things green, we are determined to find some sort of magical, tropical scene.

Countdown is on.  I am  so excited to start the new year off with these two beautiful people at their dreamy destination nuptials.

Sharai Siemens Photography: You + Me

I spent a morning with these two one Saturday in early July. We started off at their house in Buena Vista and walked to their favourite ice cream shop. Phoenix got a double scoop that he later confessed he did not like....  ;)

We walked through alleys and streets and all the way you could hear laughing from both father and son. These two are the cutest pair in Saskatoon and it was a privilege to capture them together.

Sharai Siemens Photography: A Wedding in the Mountains

On a beautiful day in March, Sarah and Andrew were married. They chose Canmore to be their wedding destination as they both share a love for the mountains. Surrounded by family and friends, Sarah and Andrew exemplified genuine love for one another throughout the day.

The ceremony and reception were held at Canmore Golf and Country Club and we took the formal photos in the surrounding areas of Canmore.

Here is a collection of some of my favourite shots of the day.... Congrats Sarah and Andrew!

Meghan + Blaine: Maternity

Silhouettes and sunsets was the theme of this maternity session. Here are just a few of many that we took that day.

Meghan is the most beautiful mom-to-be I know and it showed in all of these photos. This session was down by the river at Cathedral Bluffs as the sun was setting. The tree is the last photos is significant to Meghan and Blaine as it was used as a backdrop in their wedding photos. It was the perfect backdrop on this day too.

Now Meghan and Blaine have a beautiful daughter, Kinley, and she is very loved:) Congrats you two!

Matt & Jenna: Engaged!

There is so much love between these two! I really enjoyed this engagement session with Matt and Jenna. We drove outside of the city near their home on the north side to this bluff of trees alone in a field. Our hands were a bit cold but it was worth it for how the photos turned out! These two were naturals and made it very easy to capture. I am so looking forward to their July wedding and their BIG wedding party! We will have so much fun. Congrats Jenna and Matt---the future Choquettes!

The Wilsons: Married

A beautiful sunny Fall day in Saskatoon, Ben and Leanne were married. We started the day at the suite in Parktown Hotel. The massive windows allowed for a great amount of natural light to capture the bridal party getting ready for the big day. Ben and Leanne shared their first look in this room and as Leanne came down the stairs, Ben waited in anticipation. Together, with their wedding party, they headed to campus grounds for formal photos. The leaves were a bright orange and made for great backdrops. Ben and Leanne had an evening ceremony at Knox Church  and their reception was held at Marquis Hall on campus. Their was so much love and comfort  throughout the day between these two and now they share a home on the Wilson family farm. Congrats Ben and Leanne! Thank you for allowing me to share a part  of your amazing day!
